I think the package you need to install is myspell, and look for the appropriate language.

I went to SystemSettings > Locale > SystemLanguages and accepted the prompt, "Additional language blah blah blah".
This installed myspell-en-au, -en-gb, -en-za, mythes-en-au, poppler-data, amarok-help-en, and wbritish.
So outside of the US, Kubuntu is a bloated o/s

You could be waiting a while otherwise... Launchpad Janitor lacks the required empathy.Kubuntu 12.04 - Acer Aspire 5750G

I'm not running the KDE desktop (standard Ubuntu) so I dont' have System Settings -> Locale. The Gnome equivalent doesn't seem to have enough options either. I did install myspell-en-gb already though.Originally posted by bra|10n View PostDo the instructions in Post #17 not work for you?

Also, when I go to configure the dictionary in LO, it is set to Czech. When I change it to EN-GB, it gets reset to Czech when I go back in to that menu. Something very messed up going on.
The funny thing is, I downloaded IBM Lotus Symphony (office suite) to get around this issue but it has the exact same problem. So it's either an Ubuntu config issue or their code-bases are very similar.Last edited by jarlath; May 19, 2012, 03:37 AM.

But you do have Language Support...
Dash > Applications > "Installed, see ** more results". This will search for and install missing language support.
Hint: If you "Apply System Wide" the installer will even take care of your L.O settings for you

bra|10n, thank you so much. That worked. Dragging to rearrange the languages wasn't working but suddenly did. It's great to have it fixed for all users of the system. I'll put the workaround in the bug-report.Originally posted by bra|10n View PostBut you do have Language Support...
