    Rebuild Dolphin Places entries

Trying to fix a problem on my dad's fresh 12.04 install. He installed using an alternate iso and made a bit of a mess when setting up the partitions. He has seperate data and windows partitions that he wanted to be mounted. He messed up the entries in the installer so they ended up being mounted in the root partition instead of /media/. Dolphin showed entries in the places panel but they wouldn't open the partitions.

I have created new mount points and edited fstab so that they mount in the right place now but the Places panel links still don't work. Is there a way I can force kde to regenerate those links so that it will pick up the new locations?

    thanks

The KDE (Dolphin) is using the XML file : ~/.kde/share/apps/kfileplaces/bookmarks.xml.

Try to rename (/remove) it. With the next start the KDE should build a new one.

You might do the renaming/removing when the KDE is not running.
    Have you tried ?
