New motherboard, do I need to re-install Kubuntu?

My old board died and I just installed an ECS A77H2-A2X. Everything still seems to run fine although I'm have some problems with the quality of the sound.
Do I need to re-install Kubuntu (a clean install?) or is it not a problem?

(I'm a little surprised you've got any sound at all.) I suggest you try a live DVD or USB of the version you are considering installing. If the sound is better, you'll know that you'll get it on a reinstall.

You might check System Settings/Multimedia/Phonon/Audio Hardware Setup to see if things are set where they should be.
