CUPS and Network Printers

I just upgraded from 10.04 to 12.04. Everything is working except that of the three network printers that I need to install, I can only print to one. I know the ip addresses of all three, and I have the appropriate drivers for all three. The one that works is an HP; the other two are a Canon and a Konica. I've tried both through CUPS directly and through System Settings/Printers, but no luck.
Anyone have ideas or a similar experience? Thanks.

For NON HP I use, CUPS add printer, select network printer and put in the IP and port 9100 and then select generic PCL or Postscript for the driver.

Did this with some Sharp network printers and they worked great.

What driver are you using? ? Steps?

There should be a Linux driver available from the Canon download centre, I'd start there - what model is it? They usually provide downloads for rpm, deb and source. I've just bought a Canon Multifunctional and have that set-up to print wirelessly.

You might also need cups-bjnp which allows CUPS to print over a network to Canon printers. I'm not certain if you need it or not as I installed cups-bjnp before I found the printer driver.

I use a multi-functional device Canon PIXMA MP640 connected to my router via WiFi. It works great on Vista, but I wasn't able to set it up on Kubuntu 12.04 64-bit. Is it possible? It would be great if someone could point to a "step-by-step" guide on how to do it, as I'm quite new to Kubuntu.

This seems to have been covered quite a lot, google for canon mp640 ubuntu and look at some of the pages.

Make sure your router is giving your printer a static IP address and you should be all right.

You'll need to extract the files from each archive before you start but you can do that in Dolphin.
