No system sounds

I hadn't really noticed since installing 12.04 but there are no system sounds what so ever, all other sound like music, movies and Flash works without issues.
Is it this computer or is it more widespread?

Annoying, I just installed 12.04 Beta 1 on my new Lenovo W520 and the bug of misaligned system sounds is still present.
