I just upgraded to KDE 4.8, and when I opened Kontact I got a message saying Akonadi had had a fatal error. The log said that Akonadi is not registered as a Dbus. How do I fix this?

 For me, Akonadi has been an issue as well. One way around Akonadi's problems is to eliminate the corruption that it is whining about. Since Akonadi is like a smart cache, purge the cache and let it rebuild. Here's what I do:
 $ akonadictl stop
 [wait until its finished stopping]
 $ rm -r ~/.local/share/akonadi
 $ akonadictl start
 I lose some akonadi settings in the process but not any data.

 This has been helpful for me during that last few upgrades of KDE which seem to leave akonadi in a corrupted state.
