How to use socks proxy for update with Muon

    Hi
I want to know how I can set a socks proxy for Muon ? Because there is no socks proxy configuration option in system proxy settings.

    thank you

KDE bug 189019 addresses this. Back in April 2009 (!) support for SOCKS was removed. The reason appears in comment #7:

disabled socks tab because socks library isn't available on win32
I'll let others here offer their opinions on that. Anyway...in October 2011, 2.5 years later, a solution appears in comment #31, which requires manually editing a file and restarting kdeinit4. The edit is persistent, so you'll need to do this only once.

Fortunately, we learn from comment #32 that a SOCKS configuration dialog will return to KDE 4.8, which we haven't had since KDE 4.1.
