Connecting wireless

Hi,
I installed Kubuntu 11.10 this morning and can't get my wireless connection working.
Like in all my previous installations I selected my wireless SSID en entered as usual my web security code.
It took the network manager quite some time to configure the connection and then it gave the message:
'waiting for authorization'
Does anyone know what kind of authorization is ment or needed?

Are you using a Broadcom adapter?

sudo lshw -C network

See if you can get it to work using WICD instead of the standard network manager.
After installing WICD make sure you remove all traces of the existing (k)network manager including the plasma widget.
