    Unwanted screen blanking

I've been having a problem recently with unwanted screen blanking, sometimes every minute or so. Pressing any key or moving the mouse brings the display back. I've looked in both the Power Management and Display sections of Systems Settings but have found nothing amiss there. It possibly could be hardware-related -- but how can I tell?

I'm running Kubuntu 11.10 on an Asus K60IJ laptop. The BIOS has few options and none of them are relevant. I have the AC power adapter plugged in. When I unplug it, the battery indicator indicates a 99% charge.

Something funny happened to me in Precise -- the Power Management widget and the Power Management settings in the Settings Manager are not co-ordinated. I have to set power management in BOTH for things to work correctly.

However, when set, it works ok.
