    SOLVED Wireless Keeyboard & Mouse

With the final release out for a few days I had great hope that it would start to work with my Logitech Bluetooth Keyboard & Mouse. I have three different version of Logitech wireless keyboards and none will work. They worked with Alpha 1 but quit just before Alpha 2. I have tried everything I can think of or find online but no joy. I hate a wired mouse or keyboard so I guess this version is out for me. I tried the ubuntu as well and same problem. I put in a bug report awhile ago and received a notice that it was confirmed and it effected others as well sometime ago but as of todays update still does not work. Anybody find a way to fix this. Does anybody know of a good wireless keyboard and mouse that will work. Don't want to buy a new one only to find out it does not work. My newest one is the Logitech MX5500.

    Hi
I'm sorry that you are having trouble with them, but I'm running the latest release and have a "hybrid jumble" of several microsoft mice and the round "receivers" and a MS ergonomic keyboard, also the little Logitech little pretty mouse with the usb dongle pn number 810.000215 and also a bunch of other offbrand wireless keyboards and mouse that all work.

And another thing, also have the latest version on a Toshiba laptop(the satellite from a few years go) I can also use the mice on it.

So, I think that it might possibly be something in the burn on the cd or something, don't know.

I don't doubt yours work. Just to show you what I have done. I have burned a new copy of each alpha and beta along with several daily of both the 32 bit and 64 bit. I did a fresh install of each. It was working in the alpha 1 and stopped in the update about a day before alpha 2 was released. Other than the update I had not changed anything. I downloaded a copy of the 64bit Ubuntu and checked the live CD and the mouse/keyboard did not work in it.

I would go along with your idea except I have five computers all running 11.04 all running Logitech wireless mouse/keyboard with different types of stuff inside and different dvd drives I have tried downloading and burning from different machines and installing to different machines and NONE of them will work with any of the wireless mouse/keyboards I have. Works great with wired mouse. I have only been using this software since Warty so I am not a total novice. I also understand a bad burn and never ask for help unless I have tried several new downloads and burns on different machines first. 11.10 works great on my two laptops and my netbook but kubuntu does not see the mouse/keyboard if I plug it into them. The machine does and they work in grub but thats it. If I boot any of my machines into 11.04 everything works. I do not own anything made by Microsoft so I can not check if they would work. I am at a complete loss as to what to do.

I have done a little more snooping around and this problem also appears in all distributions based on the latest Debian Testing or I really suspect it is the Kernel used in these. Most are on 3.0.1 up to 3.0.7 anything prior to that work great. I don't know what to do or who to tell about this. I have put in a bug report on this and I have gotten several e-mails from the bugs thingy where it effects others as well.

All I can say is keep trying.
In the past three weeks I've installed 11.10 on several machines with various brands of wireless keyboards and mice, all worked 'out of the box'

Funny thing is, I was sometimes forced to start the install with a wired mouse as initially only the keyboard was recognised but after the first reboot the mice came on as well.

What does the command usbutils show, that is assuming your keyboards and mice run on USB?
