    Looks like OpenGL has crashed.

    Try running:

    glxgearsd -info

see if that gives a clue. The exact problem may be with the video drivers; what video card/driver are you using?

While try to fix problem system crashed and i installed back Natty.
Mean while tested again to upgrade again. Same problem happened.
      So quit trying.
      Will stay on Natty.

Here is how the game start normally.
I think that xfree86-VidModeExtension may have problem.
Tomorrow will try distro upgrade again.

Re: After todays updates Enemy-Territory now working

I'm no expert in the area of OpenGL, but there are known issues with the NVIDIA drivers and the recent xorg updates. I did do the natty -> oneiric dist-upgrade, and my nvidia-current driver seems to be working, but that is just with basic OpenGL stuff. I have not tried running any games.

If you really want to mess with this, there are a couple of things you might try. If you are using the nvidia-current driver, you might try placing a hold on that package before doing the dist-upgrade. That should prevent the xorg update from going through, which might keep your video working. Note my use of words like "should" and "might" -- I don't know, I haven't tried it myself.

The other thing is, if you are using the NVIDIA driver from their website, they supposedly have an updated one that fixes the xorg problem. You could put a hold on the xorg-core package before running the dist-upgrade.

Both of these options are messy, they will involve holding back upgrades that may leave your system in an unstable state. I do not know the status of available NVIDIA drivers and the new xorg packages; my only source on that is the aptosid forum, and that has gotten pretty messy over this issue, with no apparent resolution.

Bottom line -- if you want to be sure your games will work, probably stick with natty for the time being.

            First of all thank you for reply;

Today I managed to make a pure install of Oneiric.
After install and load 32 bit compatibility libraries ET started to work.

            Thanks again for help.

As i made a fresh install system selected my countries local server.
              And i missed this.
The latest updates came on server just today. (all kde4 libraries etc).
Updates done same problem came back.
On the last reply of Doctordruidphd told me to install Nvidia drivers from nvidia site.
I did it and game is back again.

              Thanks All

Re: After todays updates Enemy-Territory now working (solved)

I wasn't aware that Enemy Territory was available for Linux (I rarely play FPS games anyway), but I decided to see how good it is from videos. WOW!

Even though it is a 232MB download, it is easy to install using the playdeb repository. The instructions on how to add the repository to your package manager and install the game are here. Good ole' "apt-get install ...", or you can use Synaptic or Muon, after you add the repository and get the GPG key, also explained on that website.

Once that repository is installed it adds a significant number of 3D & 2D games (FPS, MRP, etc..)
