beta1 samba is still broken and no updates?

I am trying beta1 now. Still asking pwd even when I set it.

I tried now again sudo smbpasswd and.... it works

It should be nice for dummy user that there is no need to cli.

I am getting only update for firefox.

this post fails to help me to help you .

i see you have a problem with samba but im not sure if your problem is with the server or the client.

is that a share your browsing? if so this happens some times with shares but i only ever noticed it when i was tring to browse a windows host (something wrong w/ their smb server).

this makes me think your talking about the server. if your using the server to host files over smb , i think there is a kcm (kde control module) for that. you should be able to find it under system settings->sharing. if your going to be doing any kind of mildly complicated sharing then i suggest you manually create your smb.conf file, its not that hard.

What I do is simple sharing folder on Kubuntu desktop and then I want to access this folder from Win station.
It can ask user and pwd.... no problem but it fails 1st time, so I tried again this sudo...
I will wait now final. I hope that there is no need for this sudo line in final.

ps: i will try that module in final.

you might want to try with your kubuntu usr/password. or properly setup your smb.conf file
