    Amarok on Natty

I have tryed amarok with available ubuntu packaged codecs (ubuntu extras + medibuntu) on 64bit, and experience toubles with this configuration: amarok hangs and unable to play most of internet music sources, but if it can a playing starts with loud click (seems an incoming buffer not clear).

These codecs include new gstreamer ffplay libs.

Q: How to make playing smooth (as it was before)? Perhaps I have used inappropriate config with w64codecs? or there are any other codecs in PPAs available? Who also has this issue and tryed this to resolve?

Which codecs will be best for amarok?

I talked to a guy today who had problems with streams and Amarok. You might try to get phonon-vlc and choose is as a backend.

Yep! Changing multimedia backend from gstreamer to xine solved this, indeed.

Phonon-vlc has problems running for me, kde crashes and so on....

So I am now still on Xine.

Amarok with GStreamer backend does not play ogg streams (produces silence).

      Xine - works fine.

No surprise there, it is a new feature.
