    No packages in repositories

On both 11.04 and 11.10 I have no access to packages no matter what I do. I've added the main repositories but no packages show up after updating Apt-get. I am on the PowerPC port of Kubuntu but I have access to repositories and every single package on 10.04 and 10.10. This happens if I install from both the CD and if I just do an upgrade from 10.10.

Take a gander at Where is the PowerPC version of 11.04? I thought that I had read/heard that official support for the PowerPC was dropped.

Well the PowerPC architecture was officially dropped long long ago but people have been releasing unofficial ports of the latest Ubuntu's/Kubuntu's for a long while. They have a powerpc iso of the latest 12.04 beta even. But it still doesn't explain why the repositories all of a sudden don't work right.

Then perhaps you should post the contents of your sources.list so we can all see it.
I'm sure there are friendly enough folks here only too willing to help you out.

Is there a reason you have both natty and maverick repositories in your sources.list?

And as official support had been dropped I was expecting to see perhaps a list of unofficial repositories

I wondered too if the reclassification of Kubuntu has resulted in a cleanout of packages for powerpc?

Possible leftovers? I haven't edited them myself or used Software Sources. I did however use the do-release-upgrade command in a terminal to upgrade the distribution from Maverick to Natty.

Well even with the fact that Kubuntu is now unofficial it will have access to the official repositories just like most Ubuntu based distros such as Linux Mint. But I was wondering about whether or not they cleaned out the packages. Then I thought about the fact that Maverick still has full access to them? Plus every package available on x86 is available and usable on this computer through that repository on 10.10.

At the moment I'm having a performance problem with the installation. All of a sudden it takes anywhere between 1-infinite hours to fully login and be usable. Until then it's sooo slow and unbearable (It takes an hour to open the Kicker menu) and it didn't used to do this. I thought it was just the fact that KDE was reopening my last session and overloading itself but even when I disabled that and managed to nicely shut it down, it still runs worse than awful..

Are you certain that you still have access to these packages in 10.10? Meaning you are able to install a new package for instance?
What I can't get my head around is the fact that if the platform is no longer supported how it can be that you can even install these packages.
I see the case of Linux Mint as different because of this reason.

I can understand how you might be able to add these repositories but not surprised if they even showed 0 packages. Just trying to be logical here.
