No, I don't really want to switch to Unity -- at least not yet. But I do want to try it out, and I already have a virtual Kubuntu running under VirtualBox. I'd like to convert that virtual machine to Unity without doing a full reinstall. I know there's a Netbook version of Unity I can install, but is that just a stripped-down version? If so, is there a way to install the full Unity package?

There are some sites that have a step by step process, but as I posted elsewhere, it is not pretty when it is done. Mine was so laggy as to be unworkable.
I'd just do the ubu unity in virtual box it does, indeed work.

Unity doesn't work in VirtualBox
When I tried setting up Unity directly under VirtualBox, it got downgraded to the Gnome interface because of some graphics problem. This is apparently being discussed in the Virtual Box forum.
