    [SOLVED]Mouse blocked

    Hi,

I've installed Kubuntu 11 starting from Kubuntu 10 and following all instructions.
At the end, my PC was blocked. I've turned it off and restarted, choosing the kernel 2.6.38, but after the startup the mouse didn't work. ( both the touchpad and the mouse )

I restarted again the system with a previous version of the kernel ( 2.6.28 ) and all is ok.

    So I think I have a kernel problem ...

My sistem is a laptop, a Dell Inspiron 6000.

    Any idea?

    thanks

    Re: Mouse blocked

I had that problem with my Inspiron 6400 when I tried upgrading 10.10 to 11.04 this morning.

Solved it by just doing a fresh install (rather than an upgrade) of 11.04, working fine now. Really impressed with how fast the install was - less than 10 mins from inserting the usb stick to up and running!

        [SOLVED]Mouse blocked

I've downloaded kubuntu 11.04 dvd and I've tried to install.
To do this, I've done some google search and found the program I have to use to install on usb key: usb-creator-kde.

        So I've tried with:

        sudo apt-get install usb-creator-kde

But the system told me to use this one:

        sudo dpkg --configure -a

This last command completes the previous update of the system and now my system correctly boots without reinstalling!
