Intel 82915G/GV/910GL integrated graphics controller performance

    direct rendering
renderer: Mesa DRI Intel(R) 915G GEM 20100330 DEVELOPMENT

with several applications running the computer starts lagging and eventually disables desktop effects.

how much RAM do you have ?
I believe, if yours is like mine, that uses shared RAM with the system.
I have 2Gig's of ram in the box and will get that some times (effects dropping out) if I'm pushing it.

    i7 4core HT 8MB L3 2.9GHz
    16GB RAM
Nvidia GTX 860M 4GB RAM 1152 cuda cores

i only have 1 GB of RAM. that computer isn't at home but in the office i work in.

is it unrealistic to have a guest Windows XP in VirtualBox and work in CorelDRAW on the machine, you think?

1gb ram, and assuming a pentium 4 cpu or thereabouts?
XP maybe if you slim it down, and slim down KDE a LOT.
