After upgrading from Kubuntu 10.10 to 11.04, access to my PTP camera device stopped working. I now get the failure:
Could not read file Could not claim the USB device.
This happens from both Dolphin and Digikam.
The device is seen by the kernel as I get messages like this:
kernel: [60053.011683] usb 1-1: USB disconnect, address 9
kernel: [60059.760041] usb 1-1: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 10
and lsusb shows this:
Bus 001 Device 010: ID 04b0:041a Nikon Corp.
