Since going to 4.6 then to 4.6.1 I've notice I have no search function in the menu any more. This is what I used over FIND as it seems reliant on Nepomuk and Akonadi; both of which I find being resource hogs. I have those disabled and yes the following will sound odd if FIND is truly dependent on those two. When using FIND I can't seem to choose to refine that "search" by "file create" or such. I would hate to do this but would re-enabling those help that in FIND or does FIND just not have any "refinement" options? If it has no way to refine its "FIND" how can I do a normal search as before? Am I overlooking it?

Re: Where is "Search"?
Nope. that brings up the strigi/nepomuk serch bar.Open Dolphin and press CTRL+F ?
You have to run the original application that was used for 'regular' search: kfind
just type it in the kmenu's search or alt-f2.
I know the strigi/nepomuk search is a hog on slower systems, but man if you can use it, it is sooooo much faster than kfind once the drive is indexed.

Re: Where is "Search"?
Thanks Claydoh! That's it. My system is more than able to handle it but I do a lot of graphics, programming and gaming and Nepomuk/Akonadi doesn't play nice with those (at least with me anyway). Plus it could be I am stuck in my ways on a few things and Search being one of those few things.

I always use locate or krusader search function to find files. I highly recommend you to install krusader, you'll love it!
