kde tiling

Hi all ,
I am using kubuntu 10.10 and kde 4.5.1
I tried doing the tiling but it does not work
I enabled the tiling in window behaviour -> advanced , default tiling layout = columns , floating widows raising = raise /lower all floating windows
Still , any new window i open , takes up the whole screen

Any solutions ?

Look at your windows size default. If you have windows set to open 'full screen', then the settings you are attempting to set won't work.

be4 any further tweaking , please update to kde 4.5.5. Is far more stable. add ppa:kubuntu-ppa .

Well i was yet to find the default window size :P
Anyways , thanks for youy replies guys.
And yes i will try upgrading
