It's possible, using Folder View Settings / Activity, to select the view: folder view, desktop view, etc. Is there a way to set the default for that view to something other than Desktop View? I want to have different wallpapers on different desktops, so I need to maintain "Separate activity on each desktop".

Re: Setting the default activity view

 Isn't that just:

 System Settings

 Workspace Behaviour

 Virtual Desktops

Check the 'Different widgets for each desktop' box?

Works for me, OR have I misunderstood your enquiry

" ifferent widgets" isn't it! ifferent widgets" isn't it!

I've had "different widgets for each desktop" checked for a long time. That's what I need to get different wallpapers for each desktop. (Incidentally, the relationship between wallpapers and widgets isn't clear to me; I don't know what widget, if any, is responsible for setting the wallpaper.)

I can get a particular desktop to show the folder view by clicking on the cashew and going to Activity/Folder View Settings/Activity/Type. Going at it that way, I need to set the Activity Type of each desktop individually to Folder View. What I would like, which "different widgets" doesn't seem applicable to, is to set the default Activity Type so that desktops I don't set explicitly still have Folder View as their Activity Type.

 Is that possible?
