I have used Gnome for most of my Linux Time, until all this Gnome-Unity desktop talk started to happen. I went looking for a new Desktop, that I could be happy with. I tried quite a few until, for some reason I tried Opensuse live CD with KDE and was stunned how nice it was. I am not a .rpm fan so I tried Kubuntu and wow what a nice KDE system ! I really like how it works, I am still learning how to do things the KDE way, but I have to say the Kubuntu team has done a nice job. I wanted to thank you guys for all the hard work you put in and let you know I am a new convert to Kubuntu.
