    Differences in Distros by Date?

I downloaded the 32-bit CD iso of 10.10 four days after it was available.

Is there a difference between that one and what is available now? Have they included all updates since, or are you still downloading the original October release?

    There are:

    Development version

Daily snapshot of the development version - at the moment Kubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwhal).
    > Desktop CD
    > Alternate install CD

    non-LTS version

The non Long Term Support ISO is frozen when the develoment crew is thinking it is stable and the relese day is at the hand. With the Kubuntu 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat) the moment was Oct-2010.

You could see that from > Kubuntu releases (Last modified):

    kubuntu-10.10-alternate-amd64.iso 07-Oct-2010 17:03
    kubuntu-10.10-desktop-amd64.iso 07-Oct-2010 16:58

    kubuntu-10.10-alternate-i386.iso 07-Oct-2010 17:05
    kubuntu-10.10-desktop-i386.iso 07-Oct-2010 16:59

    LTS version

The Long Term Support version will get point release updates for the CD/DVD images.

We also committed, for the first time, to a regular set of point releases for 8.04 LTS. These will start three months after the LTS, and be repeated every six months until the next LTS is out. These point releases will include support for new hardware as well as rolling up all the updates published in that series to date. So a fresh install of a point release will work on newer hardware and will also not require a big download of additional updates.

    More:

    > Ubuntu releases
Ubuntu releases are supported for 18 months. Ubuntu LTS (Long Term Support) releases are supported for 3 years on the desktop, and 5 years on the server.
