Came across the link below when trying to figure out why my screensavers were not kicking in for KDE 4.5.1.

I have upgraded to 4.5.5, but still the same issue. Lock screen does not work, none of the power management settings seem to. Changing to plasma-desktop, though, and they all work fine (even shutting down on lid closure).
I really enjoyed the netbook interface, but this is one more issue that is pushing me towards the desktop UI.
Have I missed something? Some script, some edit, that will get screensavers and lock screen to work on the netbook UI?
Running Kubuntu 10.10, KDE 4.5.5 on an ASUS 1005PEB.
