    [SOLVED] kubuntu doesn't detect network

    Hello

    I'm almost new to ubuntu/linux.
    After installing kubuntu I had no problem connecting to my ADSL modem. Everything was done automatically: my modem connects automatically to internet, and Kubuntu always detected the modem.

    Yesterday I played a bit with network settings, specially with pppconf. I didn't do any thing serious. After a restart kubuntu doesn't detect network connection at all. If I plug/unplug the cable or turn off the modem the network icon (on the right down corner) shows that red cross. And connection state is "unmanaged".

    How can I undo changes I've made (if any)?

    Or how can I set network settings to what it is out of the box?

    I hope you can help me.
    Thanks in advance.

    OK,
    I searched the net more and found this:
    http://askubuntu.com/questions/2901/...ement-disabled

    in /etc/NetworkManager/nm-system-settings.conf I changed
    managed=false
    to
    managed=true

    after a restart my problem solved.
    It seems this problem occurs after a bad shutdown
    There are other solutions in that post too
