wireless RTL8101E/RTL8102E (r8169 kernel module) looses connection all the time

    Hi,

I've a laptop with a "RTL8101E/RTL8102E PCI Express Fast Ethernet controller (rev 02)" wireless card and i connect to a WPA2 wireless router for internet, my kubuntu recognized the card out of the box it connects but then it keeps loosing the connection and takes forever to reconnect.

I've another old laptop with windows and on the same room it just works and doesn't loose the connection.

Also my android phones work perfectly with the same AP.

The signal strength is around 80% all time.

For example during the writing of this post less than 2 minute i lost the connection 3 times.

Does anyone face the same issue? what are the solutions?, thanks!

    I have the RTL8187B. I use ndiswrapper.

    sudo apt-get install ndisgtk

Find and download the windows driver.

    Unzip it.

Run ndisgtk and enter your password.

Browse to your driver's inf file. e.g. mine is at:

    /home/gareth/Documents/RTL8187B-WindowsDriver/RTL8187B_Drv_XP_5.1160.0415.2009_Win7_62.1181.1105 .2009_UI_1.00.0145.ALL.L/RTL8187B/WinXP/

Once your done, restart and you should be using ndiswrapper, and your wifi should be flawless.

Apparently all works if i switch my router from WPA2-AES to WPA2-TKIP, connections are lost only now and then maybe due to the fact that the key is renewed every hour.
