    Changing plymouth screen

I came up with my own plymouth screen, following the instructions here:
    http://www.ubuntugeek.com/quick-tipp...ucid-lynx.html

But it doesn't work. Even after doing the update-initramfs -u, and even after reinstalling the theme with a higher priority than 150, I still get the blue kubuntu screen. What gives?

Also, is there a more sophisticated guide to creating plymouth themes? I really want the text box back, like usplash used to have.

Here's a Plymouth guide in several parts:

      Re: Changing plymouth screen

      Thanks for the link.

No matter what I do, I cannot change the plymouth screen from the blue kubuntu-10.10 screen.
I have tried sudo plymouth-set-default-theme followed by sudo update-initramfs -u, I have tried changing in SystemSettings > AlternativesConfiguration > default.plymouth, followed by updateinitramfs, and still the same screen. Has this been hardcoded somewhere, or have I missed something? I can't even change to any of the themes downloaded from the repository. Grrrrr!
