Kubuntu 10.10 RC Only Boot To Recovery Mode on Acer 4741Z

The Specs are:
Processor: Intel Pentium Processor P6000
Motherboard Chipset: Mobile Intel HM55 Express Chipset
Graphics Card Type: Intel HD Graphics with 128 MB of dedicated

Installation ran with no problems, buth then it only boot to recovery mode.

I also tried sudo service kdm start but still couldn't get to GUI.

Any idea..?

Two things to try:

1. From the boot menu (if you have one), choose the "Recovery Console" item, and boot that one. Then run "Fix X" from the menu that is presented after booting.

2. From the prompt that you are getting from the normal boot, run

sudo service kdm start

and post back any error messages that are given.
