We must be approaching RC. Very few updates last few days. And I have every possible repository enabled and a few ppa's. My install is running perfectly. Note that I am using Ubuntu and have not installed the kubuntu-desktop yet. I'll wait until after the final release to do that. This may be the best release yet.

Re: Maverick Progress
I ran updates last night and also saw nothing new. It seems very solid on my rig -- I haven't really stress-tested it, but I'm running the Nvidia proprietary driver, VMware Player, chromium-browser, OOO (soon to be Libre), Java, etc. and multimedia stuff, and the only thing that crashes is npviewer. Which is odd, because flash plays just fine, even though I get a message about an npviewer crash every time I boot up 10.10.

Re: Maverick Progress
I would guess that npviewer really isn't crashing each reboot, but that the crash file is hanging around in the system. Hitting the ignore button on the notification should stop the notify-at-each-boot. (But not ignore forever, unless you don't want any crash reports period)

Re: Maverick Progress
Clean install works fine here, but the Extras repository isn't ready yet - I always get the following error message:
W: A error occurred during the signature verification. The repository is not updated and the previous index files will be used. GPG error: http://extras.ubuntu.com maverick Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 16126D3A3E5C1192

Re: Maverick Progress
There's nothing in the maverick pool for extras.ubuntu.com as of yet, it would seem: http://extras.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/

Re: Maverick Progress
OK, I have to ask...
How does one add the "extras" repository? I understand this can be added to sources.list, rather than adding a ppa, but I can't find any instructions for doing it.

Re: Maverick Progress
This is an upgrade, not a new install.
The extras-ubuntu-keyring package is there, but it does not install the repository.
All I need is the sources.list entry for it. (or sources.list.d)

Re: Maverick Progress
If you mean the Kubuntu Restricted Extras, when i was playing with the live cd, it didn't show in KPackageKit until i ticked all the boxes in the Other Software Sources section of it, then it appeared like magic...

Re: Maverick Progress
No, I mean the new "estras.ubuntu" repository.
It seems to be a real secret as to how to do it.
Well, I added the following to sources.list, and after some tinkering, I don't get any errors, so either it broke apt altogether, or my guess is pretty close:
