    Lost OpenGL [SOLVED]

Starting a new post since it wasn't relevant to what I posted to before, even though it seemed to be: http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...0160#msg240160

I'am not entirely sure what has happened or why I've lost OpenGL/GLX support in Xorg. Anyone willing to help would be greatly appreciated. Follow the link above to see what information has already been discussed. If any more information is needed, let me know and I will gladly provide it.

    Thanks,

are you using the closed Nvidia drivers? this sort of thing happens a LOT in the development cycle, often with broken drivers until very late in the game if nvidia or ati haven't caught up to the current xorg/kernels in Maverick

or perhaps a leftover piece of an older driver left behind?

      Re: Lost OpenGL

Not sure how I missed this in the Xorg log file but:
"This server has a video driver ABI version of 8.0 that this driver does not officially support..... "

And today, checking Nvidia driver downloads, under release highlights for 256.53:
"Added support for xorg-server video driver ABI version 8, which will be included in the upcoming xorg-server-1.9 series of releases."

I guess I was just one step ahead with Xorg than Nvidia was. Still, it beats the 3 months for an ATI driver the last time this happened on my laptop

      Thanks everyone that helped,
      Cheers
