Didn't have any problems with it, so far.Originally posted by diblIt looks nice. I wonder if it does a better job than Ubiquity at handling the many kinds of IDE and SATA controllers. Ubiquity has always been a little shaky in that area, in my experience.
New version looks nice.Shinda Sekai Sensen

Kubuntu Maverick RC x64 w/ Kde 4.5.2 (main)
Kubuntu 10.04 x64 w/ Kde 4.5.1to be wiped, no point in keeping it any longer

It is Ubiquity. Just revamped.Originally posted by diblIt looks nice. I wonder if it does a better job than Ubiquity at handling the many kinds of IDE and SATA controllers. Ubiquity has always been a little shaky in that area, in my experience.

I agree, except that since running KDE 4 for the last few years, I still cringe when I see Gnome. Looks so outdated now. Just an aside.Originally posted by diblIt looks nice.

I agree the new installer looks great and friendly. Well needed. Also an aside, I agree that Gnome looks dated, but it does have its followers like KDE3.5. Again a great thing about having this kind of choice.Originally posted by dequireI agree, except that since running KDE 4 for the last few years, I still cringe when I see Gnome. Gnome 3 is not that far off, then we gnome users can go through the growing pains that KDE4 users experience in the early days.Originally posted by dequireI agree, except that since running KDE 4 for the last few years, I still cringe when I see Gnome. Re: I hope we get this in Kubuntu 10.10...
I've tried Ubuntu in the past just to see how Gnome is coming along. I'll try it again when version 3.0 gets finalized. Gnome must be perfect for those who like it, but when I try it I get the feeling I am putting on handcuffs, i.e., I lose a lot of the power that KDE4 gives me.Originally posted by dequire.....

Check back in a day, perhaps today's iso didn't build in 64bit, or, use the image from the day of the announcement - the 27thOriginally posted by Yuri sssNo x64 image avaible? Not touching 32-bit junk.

32bit is not junk
, you can use the 32bit image test in the preferred manner: in a vm (which for testing an installer is safer anyhow)
