    Maverick printing woes

My printer config page throws up "The service Printer Configuration does not provide an interface KCModule... & using the CUPS web interface throws kerbros error 401 errors.

Am I on my own with this or is it across the board?

    TIA Cary

    Re: Maverick printing woes

Ran into that a couple of weeks back, did realise it was still a problem

You should be able o use the CUPS web admin page:

    http://localhost:631/

You might have to manually start cups first:
    Code:
    sudo service cups start

      Re: Maverick printing woes

Lots of people have reported this bug (see Launchpad 591980 and 611677). I understand that there is a fix in hand, but it hasn't made its way into the updates yet.

Thanks, it's always good to know it's not just you with the problem! I didn't want to report a bug that was only on my machine.

It's not just a Maverick problem, the error already exists in Kde 4.5 RC1/2 on Lucid.

            Re: Maverick printing woes

Seems to be fixed in Kubuntu Alpha3 - at least, I have had no problems at all configuring my various printers and computers after clean installs. I presume that those relying on progressive updates have had a similar experience.
