How to tile windows

Ok, mildly embarrassed here - I've seen a lot of mention of 4.5's super dooper tiling capabilities, especially spiral tiling.

Only I have no idea how to activate or use them Does anyone else?

Ok, I found the tiling options buried deep in System Settings.

Can't say I'm particularly taken with them, but maybe that's because I only have a 19" 4:3 monitor, and I don't make use of activities or virtual screen - I just run everything maximised anyway.
