    WINE broken?

    Is it just me?

Oblivion seems to work fine, but neither GTA: Vice City or NFSU2 seem to have any desire to start. :/

I've tried lucid's 1.2rc3 package, as well as the 1.1.42 in maverick's repo.

Perhaps I should have waited on the Maverick upgrade if I wanted to play with Wine. Ah well, not a big deal.

    Re: WINE broken?

I don't know about the package in the repos, but I compiled 1.2rc3 from the Wine git, and am able to play the Steam version of GTA: Vice City with no issues (nvidia card).
Specs:  Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (@3Ghz), G.SKILL 4GB DDR2 1066, ASUS Striker II Formula MB, Asus EN9800GTX+ Dark Knight, ABS Tagan BZ800 PS, Antec 900 Case.

      Re: WINE broken?

The most recent (rc#) versions of wine seem to be giving me real problems.
I was able to install Singularity, but the video was too slow to play. A new version of wine came along, now I cannot play it nor reinstall it at all. Seems like it's just getting worse in terms of what it can run with each release. Looks like I'm going to have to run the 200 or so mb update on windows after all...
