    Another Firefox question...

    Hi all...

    Is there a way I can delete entries (or browsing history) individually from the address bar's drop down list? I know that IE and Opera (and perhaps others) have this feature (by clicking on a "X" to the right of the entry) but I don't see where to enable it, if it's possible, in Firefox.

    Firefox has Add-Ons, and Form History Control might be what you want. Assuming that this one is available for Linux. Worth checking out.

      On my FX (11.0 in 8.04.3), it is simply
      History (in the top menu list)
      Show all history
      highlight e.g., Today, to show the list of today's sites
      highlight an entry (a site visited)
      and delete it w/Delete key

        Thanks for your replies. By "history," I mean the entries that are on the drop down menu that is located on the address bar (the little gray arrow between the star and the reload symbol.) I'll check out the Form History Control Snowhog mentioned.

        Speaking of snow, I had some fun with the snow we received earlier this week...

        The snow wouldn't cooperate for the middle ball or section so I had to make him a dwarf. My neighbor came by later on and added a hat.

        EDIT: I installed the plugin but it didn't have the settings that I needed. I'll go ahead and keep it. It might be useful later on.

          No, you can't delete urls from the drop down directly but you can search and then delete url in the history dialog and it will be removed from address bar drop-down.
          Ok, got it: Ashes come from burning.

            Thank you. A bit disappointing I admit but there is a lot I like in Firefox anyway.

              (Just noticed this in passing.) Well, I can ... press the "the little gray arrow between the star and the reload symbol", mouse-over (don't click) an item, press Delete ... gone.

              This with firefox 11.0 on Lucid. Perhaps the OP (ardvark71) has the firefox one gets from the Lucid repositories; 3.6 or something I think. On my Lucid install I have added
              http://ppa.launchpad.net/mozillateam/firefox-stable/ubuntu lucid main
              to my "Software sources" to get the latest even on Lucid.

                  This is off topic, but I'm tried to add the same URL to my "Software sources" and now it won't authenticate. Do you know where I can get the "public key" so that I can import this "public key"?

                    What is the exact error message? Before you try getting another key, you may need to delete the PPA from your etc/apt/sources.list file if it's in there. If not, you might be able to disable it in your package manager, at least you can in Synaptic.

                      ERROR MSG: NO-PUBKEY

                      And yes, I deleted the source and replaced it. Same error msg resulted.

                      If possible, all I'm looking for is the URL to the public key for source: http://ppa.launchpad.net/mozillateam...-stable/ubuntu lucid main
