I tried update my kubuntu 10.04 system today and after step "Confirm you want to upgrade" and downloading all packages it stopped at "installing the upgrades" (0%) with message like "uknown error. upgrade ended with status code 1" and after it most commands in console (ls,df, ...) returns segmentation fault; any programs not running. After reboot I see login promt from 10.10, when logged in received many errors.Originally posted by Snowhog

it is second time - both times I restore my 10.04 system from backup (first time - http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=35087, second - from disk image, it's better)
