VLC and Banshee cannot work at the same time

Hi,

I've installed VLC and Banshee and they both work fine on their own.
But, whenever I try opening VLC while Banshee is open(even when it isn't playing anything), VLC is unable to play anything and vice versa.

Any ideas on what might be causing this?
