Strange markings on desktop

And here's another annoyance I have encountered since upgrading to Lucid: Notice in the attached image how there are strange markings in kicker and in the background of the temperature widget. It seems as if something drew on them. I get exactly the same markings every time I start a session. Are they supposed to be there now? They look wrong to me.

That is part of one of the plasma themes, part of the design that has elements from the default wallpaper - the theme is called Air. Some themes also look different with desktop effects on or off, I think that may be what the Air theme looks like with effects off.

I have not noticed this look in a bit, so I am wondering if the theme has been updated in later KDE releases

Yes, indeed. I changed to the Klassik theme and now kicker looks fine. Thanks.
