Very weird, the shutdown option dissapeared since KDE 4.5 bèta 2. Weird thing is, my dad is also using KDE 4.5 bèta 2 and now RC1 and he still has the shutdown option.

I have the shutdown option (Kde 4.5 RC 1).
You could try running the shutdown program directly. Right-click on the desktop > Run Command, then enter:
kdesudo /sbin/shutdownShinda Sekai Sensen<br /><br />Kubuntu Maverick RC x64 w/ Kde 4.5.2 (main)<br />Kubuntu 10.04 x64 w/ Kde 4.5.1to be wiped, no point in keeping it any longer -

That's true, but then still the option in the menu is missing.
Also upgrading to 4.5 RC 1 didn't slove my problem
