I'm trying to install 10.04 (32 bit) on a Compaq Presario M2000 laptop. I originally tried to install 12.04 but learned that it wasn't possible because the Compaq doesn't have pae support.
First, I tried installing the system directly, without trying it. The installation seemed to succeed, but when I restarted the computer it immediately hung up. So I chose the "Try Kubuntu" option instead. In this case the installation process seemed to proceed correctly for about a minute, but then again got stuck with a blank screen.
Is there any way I can get Kubuntu installed on this laptop?
