HP Pavilion DV6500
Working on confirming that only the hard drive is bad, but i suspect it is.
tried my 10.04 CD but I cant get past the SMART warning about an iminent hard drive failure. The stytem tells me to Press F1 to continue, but it doesn't do anything.
I've tried changing boot order, using 10.04 LiveCD, 10.04 on USB, Latest DSL, and no matter what I try, I can't get past the SMART message
I even tried removing the hard drive, with no luck. I though that there might be an issue with 32 bit vs 64 bit, but I have never seen that with DSL.
Not thrilled with the thought og bying a hard drive just to discover it's not the whole issue.
SOLUTION:
Used F9 function at POST after taking the hard drive out of the unit, and when it did it's complete restart, it saw the USB Live setup. System looks good. Dohhhh!!
