First, even though, I have only been using linux since I was introduced to it by a Knoppix live cd about 2.5 years ago, I have to say I am a newbie and will probably be one for a few more years.
I have tried a variety of livecd's (all were installed and tested) to find the one closest to what I wanted, but that didn't happen until recently. Here is my journey to this system I have now. I don't really know if this is the best way to get it. So any comment are welcome
I started with Xubuntu 8.04 direct install cd, after installation, I went to the update manager for the 10.04 upgrade. After the upgrade I used synaptic package manager to downloaded all the KDE and Kubuntu software. Now my splash screen says it is a Kubuntu system.
I have really enjoyed using linux and hope to continue using it.
I now have to get it tweaked out.
