    not upgrading Kernel?

sudo apt-get upgrade gives me the following:
The following packages have been kept back:
    linux-generic linux-headers-generic linux-image-generic
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 3 not upgraded.

Any packages held back are done so for a reason. Don't push it. But that said, what kernel are you booted into when you run the upgrade command?

Just to ensure the cache is up to date, run:
        Code:
        sudo apt-get update
        Then run:
        Code:
        sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
(dist-upgrade is preferable to upgrade - see man apt-get for the info)
