ZeroConf File & Print Sharing.

Hello,

we are software developers and developing windows based applications.
Till date the setup we were proposing was Kubuntu Server with Samba and windows Nodes.
The database was residing on Linux server and app exe was accessed by Nodes through smaba share.

Now client has tested our win application with wine and it works to their satisfaction. So they
are going to have Kubuntu on Nodes too. Now the problem is how to see all computers on
network by names like Network Neighborhood on windows.

The main requirement is File Sharing Interface should be like windows and user should be able to
share files with each other or add remove Folders from sharing as they do with right click and
enable or disable sharing on windows.

We tried to search on net but howto says ZeroConf Service Discovery option should be selected but
we dont have that option

The last resort we have is install samba on each computer since at present we can see Samba shares in dolphin

The avahi-dameon controls network zero configuration in *ubuntu. You might want to Google that and read up its configuration.
