    Can't share a folder

    Hi all.

I've recently installed kubuntu 10.04 LTS. I was hoping to find a much more user friendly distribution. I liked the instalation and KDE. Very nice indeed.

My purpose is to set up a local webserver (APACHE, MYSQL, PHP), and to work over the network accessing the server root folder.

First thing was to try to share a folder. I can't get it work!!!

In the properties of the folder I hit the "share button" but nothing happens.

Next, in the package manager Ican't find the apache package to install.

    Anyone has a tip?

    Thx all.

Wel, first welcome to the party

I would suggest not using kpackagekit. It is in delopement and the only app that I do not kile on kde4.4 (Kubuntu).

Instead open a terminal (K->system->konsole/terminal) and install synaptic:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install synaptic
this is much easier to use and you can search for all the apps you want and install.

As for sharing, there are so many ways of doing this I would suggest searching this forum first.

    Enjoy
