Kernel Update?

Just wondering if anyone knows if a kernel update is in the works? I know it's expected in Edgy, obviously, but was hoping to see the latest kernel in Dapper. I'm running Debian Etch on a separate partition, and a lot of bugs I've found w/ Dapper are fixed w/ the newer kernel (power management, usb recognition, etc...)?

If you want the latest kernel, upgrade to Edgy and you will have the new kernel every few days :D
