I updated today and got a newer version of the multi monitor support program. It doesnt work at all. I have a main monitor and my TV hooked up through an HDMI cable. Issues include:

1. Cairo-dock doesnt start on start up, but tries and slows the system down considerably. My formerly 10 second boot time is now a two minute boot time.

2. No sound through HDMI.

3. No Pulseaudio. KDE keeps asking me if I want it to forget that pulseaudio exists and there are no pulseaudio selections in the multimedia menu.

4. I cant turn off the second display. I had a nifty script that did it before, but now its just always on.

5. Display quality is noticeably worse.

6. Log out buttons and shortcuts dont work anymore. I have to shutdown through the terminal.

Is there any way to revert to whatever I had before?

You've listed your problems but nothing about your system or what "multi monitor" program you're talking about. Please read the link link my sig and re-post.

What hardware, Intel, nVidea or AMD, proprietary drivers or not, 32- or 64-bit?

Asrock z68 Pro 3 MB, Intel i5 CPU, Nvidia 550 ti graphics, 64 bit, proprietary drivers.

My shutdown buttons started working again, not quite sure how though. Pulseaudio is a complete mess, totally unusable. VLC backend is also a mess. I figured out how to turn the display on and off, but a lot of times when I turn it back on, its buggy. Cant get anything to reproduce consistently yet though. What a disaster....

All these problems were from updates installed from the /ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates ppa. I used ppa-purge to undo all the updates and everything is back to normal.
