apt-check hogs 100% CPU and memory after Plasma 5.5.3 upgrade

    Hi all,

After updating my Kubuntu 15.10 64bit with Plasma 5.5.3 (via the Kubuntu Backports PPA) yesterday, I am now having hundreds of apt-check processes spawn every time I run "apt-get update". These apt-check processes eat up all of my PC CPU and memory and make the desktop unusable for 2-3 minutes, until they run out. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? Any suggestions for a fix?

    Thanks,
    bamyasi

Yes I see the same thing when running top but I haven't noticed any side effects such as degraded performance. I can see RAM and CPU being consumed though.

Same here. There is a bugreport 358359 in KDE Bugtracking System: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=358359
