    Hi all!
My kubuntu version - 11.10, KDE and Jovie 4.8, Speech Dispatcher 0.7.1.
Please help! Festival engine not loaded from speech_dispatcher daemon.
What is the problem and how to fix it?

I am also interested to know if anyone has gotten this working. I have been trying for ages and have never gotten festival to play with speech dispatcher.

Just so you know espeak work fairly well with speech dispatcher, but sounds no where near as good.

Thanks for the answer. Espeak work fairly well with speech dispatcher,
but russian language very bad and pidgin-festival plug-in also no work.

        Installing:
        espeak espeak-data festival festival-freebsoft-utils festlex-cmu festlex-poslex festvox-kdlpc16k festvox-kallpc16k jovie kmouth libdotconf1.0 libespeak1 libestools2.1 sound-icons speech-dispatcher speech-dispatcher-festival
Starting the Jovie. The Jovie -> Only dummy output module, missing output modules. Looking the ~/.speech-dispatcher/log/festival.log:
        festival_client: connect to server failed
Searching with the festival message -> http://fonality.com/trixbox/node/46116
mkleine: the festival server must be started manually.
        Rebooting.
Starting the festival: Alt+F2 and festival --server &
        Starting the Jovie.
        Testing -> Seems to work.

        Rebooting.

            Hi,

Can anyone help with this issue? Maybe giving step by step instructions on how to make festival work with jovie?

update: steps described above, by Online, didn't work for me...
festival works fine (voices, spd-say, etc.) but when I start speech-dispatcher server it complains about wrong voices:
