Personally, I normally go with light blue and brighter images than you have chosen. For years now, I have kept the same wallpaper on my desktop and I only have the clock widget on the desktop. I don't care for too much clutter with a great deal of icons. The image on my desktop is a CGI render by an unknown artist of a sandy beach, blue sky, and palm trees. None of these images have a relationship to the OS or KDE. As for voting 10, I could easily say, all or none. I know most of the distros have some images (eye candy) included but I never thought much of keeping them. Since you are seeking an esthetic opinion here, I would keep within a theme of the OS itself and use as much of the Kubuntu blue color as possible.

I was dealing with a variety of physical issues.

vinny, yes, that is what I...personally, think that ... the user would expect would be at least the majority of the mix and clearly labled with a logo or name.

I mean the other pictures are ok and I am positive that the people who snapped them love them and that there are many people who would promote them but they are not what one expects to be associated with..." a big deal". Yeah, they could be part of the mix..

i mean think of some of the drek that Ubuntu has produced and think of the almost "high art" that was made for Mandriva.

And yes I am sure that a lot of people love the Ubuntu stuff and also hate the Mandriva stuff

And i'm SURE that I have mightily offended a lot of people here but... take for example my wallpaper that I supplied for my Kparadigm shift.

That is an original pic taken by myself, like the flower pics.

But, I spent many hours doing cosmetic stuff to remove distracting things and enhance other things. I went to great lengths to get it too look right on a large screen monitor, not an easy thing to do.

The badge was made by one of our very own here I spent several hours fiddling with to get it "just right" but also...kind of...not right so that it "caught the eye"...hey... is there something...wrong with that?

In other words it appears to the viewer to have been "purposely" been ...maybe right...maybe not...

But the viewer is "intrigued" by it in some .;..indiscernable way...rather like Where's Waldo. just where IS Waldo? One keeps going back..

Now yes Waldo is a BUSY thing...probably way too busy for almost all people but...that's not the point of Where's Waldo.

And it SHOULD be "the point" of wallpapers that are associated with "a big deal".

the shadow of the badge on the ship was not simple, again, it took several hours in GIMP to get it to where it looked like a shadow of a device on the side of a ship.

is it GREAT...no...it is NOT...but also it is not "just a picture on the side of the ship that I took one day".

Again, I'm sure that I offended quite a few people here and for that I apologize.
